Former President Donald Trump criticized the questioning of Fulton County DA Fani Willis after she took the stand during a dramatic hearing on whether she should be disqualified in Trump’s election interference case in Georgia.
Trump turned to Truth Social on Friday, slamming Willis’ defensive response to allegations that she wrongly hired her boyfriend Nathan Wade to help prosecute the former president.
“Does anyone really believe that Fani Willis paid cash to her ‘lover’ when they took expensive ‘trips’ together? Real? Where did she get the CASH?’ Trump posted this on social media on Friday.
He continued with “Pretty weak interrogation yesterday!!! I think they don’t want to offend her. There is no way she can explain away this corruption!!!”
‘Pretty weak interrogation yesterday!!! I guess they don’t want to offend her,” former President Donald Trump posted in response to the decision not to call Willis, even though his own lawyer did some of the questioning Thursday.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis made a dramatic appearance in court Thursday, where she spoke about her “physical” relationship with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade and testified about providing him with cash refunds when they traveled together. Her attorney decided not to call her back Friday for additional testimony
Former President Trump angrily posted to Truth Social about the hearing in the Georgia election interference case. He denounced the “weak interrogation” and called for an “immediate termination” of the case against him.
A frustrated Willis took the stand on Thursday, where she angrily blasted the allegations against her and defended that they paid Wade in cash for their vacations together.
Willis said she had stacks of money at home because her father told her to always have six months’ worth of savings available.
Attorney Ashleigh Merchant, who represents Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, bombarded Willis with questions about the trips she took with Wade and the method of reimbursement.
In a combative moment, Willis told Merchant that she was “not a hostile witness” and that she “wanted to testify.”
She also said at one point, “I don’t need anyone to pay my bills. The only man who has ever paid my bills in full is my father.”
Willis also slammed her former girlfriend for being ‘dishonest’ after claiming Willis’ relationship with Wade started three years earlier than they claimed.

It would mean the relationship began before Wade was hired in the Georgia election interference case that Willis is pursuing against Donald Trump — and could be grounds for a judge to disqualify them from the case.
Disqualification could derail the entire election interference case.
Trump was not in court for the dramatic hearing, but his Truth Social account has been closely following developments online.
“I can’t believe the Georgia judiciary, or the governor, can take kindly to this humiliating embarrassment,” Trump wrote in another post. “It was a FAKE CASE from the start, and now everyone sees it for what it is: a MAJOR LEAGUE SCANDAL!”
He has called the election interference case against him a “witch hunt” and called for it to be “ended immediately.”
Willis’ surprise appearance on Thursday came after her ex-boyfriend Wade also came under fire over their relationship. He testified that it started in 2022, shortly after she appointed him as special prosecutor.
