Kylian Mbappe ‘tells PSG he will LEAVE at the end of the season’ and end his long-running transfer saga… with Europe’s top clubs now on red alert
According to reports, Kylian Mbappe will leave Paris-Saint Germain when his contract with the Ligue 1 club expires this summer.
After several years of back and forth and uncertainty over whether he would stay beyond 2025, the 25-year-old has reportedly told the Ligue 1 champions he will move on in the summer.
The Athletics David Ornstein wrote that: ‘Mbappe has communicated his decision to PSG, but the terms of his departure have yet to be fully agreed. An official announcement is expected once the situation is resolved in the coming months.”
He said on X (formerly Twitter) that his departure ‘could save the club £171 million a year (€200 million per year)’, with Luis Enrique’s side looking to focus their investments on ‘youth and the collective’.
Real Madrid are the frontrunners to sign him, with recent reports claiming that Carlo Ancelotti’s players are discussing the Frenchman’s future in the dressing room.
