Subtle detail that most Aussies missed in Albo’s engagement photo: Body language expert says it exposes how Jodie is really feeling
A body language analyst says the behavior of Anthony Albanese and his partner Jodie Haydon in their engagement photo proves they are very much in love, but also noticed a subtle detail that indicated the Prime Minister’s new fiancée was very nervous.
Dr. Louise Mahlerone of the world’s top experts on body language and communication analyzed the couple’s engagement photo after Albanese popped the question Wednesday night.
‘I have never seen Mr Albanese so happy. His face is literally wrinkled with joy to show he’s just ecstatic,” she told Daily Mail Australia.
Dr. However, Mahler noticed that Jodie’s face emphasized her nervousness.
“Jodie has her hand lovingly on his chest and is absolutely happy, but I also see a smile that isn’t so much in the eyes,” she said.
“She might be thinking, ‘What have I gotten myself into?’ I mean, it’s a big step for everyone.”

Albanese on Wednesday became the first prime minister to get engaged while in office after proposing following a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner.
Mr Albanese shared the news of his engagement on Thursday morning.
“She said yes ❤️,” he captioned a photo of the couple.
The 60-year-old leader took Jodie, 45, to Italian and Sons in Canberra on Wednesday night to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Later that evening, after they returned to the Lodge, the Prime Minister popped the question.
Daily Mail Australia understands the Prime Minister had the ring designed specifically for Ms Haydon.
In a joint statement, the couple said: ‘We are happy and excited to share this news and look forward to spending the rest of our lives together.
“We’re so lucky to have found each other.”
The Prime Minister met Ms Haydon in early 2020 at a conference in Melbourne where the then Opposition Leader was speaking, following his divorce in 2019.
Mr Albanese asked the crowd if any fellow South Sydney fans were present and Ms Haydon, who lives in his Grayndler electorate, shouted: ‘Up the Rabbitohs’.
Later he introduced himself and they decided to go for drinks when they got back to Sydney.
He wooed his new girlfriend with a night out at Young Henrys Brewery in Newtown.
‘We had what I thought was just going to be a drink at Young Henrys in Newtown, and we got on really well. That’s how it started,” he told Women’s Weekly.
Mr Albanese, a father of one, had recently split from his ex-wife Carmel Tebbutt after 19 years of marriage and 30 years together.
He said he was still “emotionally bruised” by the sudden split, which came as a shock.

Ms Haydon, who has never been married or had children, said she was not looking for a relationship but realized she had fallen in love with Mr Albanese when he was in a car accident in January 2021.
His Toyota was rammed by a Range Rover and he was rushed to hospital for x-rays but escaped serious injury.
Ms Haydon recalled arriving at the scene of the accident in Marrickville after a phone call and seeing her friend’s wrecked car.
‘I saw the wreckage of a car before I saw it and thought ‘he wouldn’t survive this’. It was very scary, and in that moment you realize how much you love this person – the fear of losing them,” she said.
‘When I jumped in the ambulance and saw Anthony, I knew how deep my feelings for him were.’
Jodie has been nicknamed ‘Australia’s First Lady’ after accompanying Mr Albanese to international events during his time in office.
