Ahead of a potentially historic night for women’s basketball, ticket prices have skyrocketed in anticipation of Iowa women’s star Caitlin Clark breaking the all-time NCAA scoring record for women.
Clark is just eight points away from breaking the record of 3,527 points currently held by Washington alum Kelsey Plum.
Prices have surpassed $200 for fans to pack the Carver Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City on Thursday night when the Iowa Hawkeyes host the Michigan Wolverines.
Clark is the reigning Naismith Women’s Player of the Year and could be on course to win the honor again this season.
If she does, she will be the first to win consecutive Player of the Year honors since UConn’s Breanna Stewart in 2015 and 2016.

She is also within reach of the all-time points record for men or women, which is held by Pete Maravich
Not only does she have the women’s record in sight, but she is also within reach of surpassing Pete Maravich’s all-time NCAA basketball points record of 3,667 points. She is currently just 147 points away from that mark.
Clark has led Iowa to a 22-3 record and the Hawkeyes are currently ranked fourth in the country.
She averages 32.1 points in 34 minutes per game. She also averages seven rebounds, 8/3 assists and 1.7 steals.
While Clark is already highly decorated and appears to be the favorite to be selected first overall in this spring’s WNBA draft, the one thing that has eluded her is a national title.
She led the Hawkeyes to the national title game last year, but fell to the LSU Tigers.
