Dover Heights: Wild footage emerges of occupants in a ute with P-plates throwing objects at bystanders

Disturbing images have emerged of occupants of an irregularly driven car with P-plates appearing to throw water bomb balloons at a young schoolboy, pedestrians and other road users in an affluent suburb.

A concerned motorist filmed the incident as the white ute drove along Military Road in Dover Heights in Sydney’s east on February 2.

The footage showed objects being thrown from the driver and passenger windows at people walking on footpaths and at a delivery man on a bicycle waiting at an intersection.

The objects shattered when they hit the ground.

Close-up images showed his soaked shirt.

He was also filmed driving the wrong way down a one-way street.

The man who filmed the incident provided the footage to NSW police but told radio station 2GB on Wednesday that no action had been taken.

Police told 2GB host Ben Fordham they had no record of the complaint and asked again for his details.

Fordham called the police’s apparent lack of action “poor form.”

Police told Daily Mail Australia early Thursday that the incident was under investigation.

“Officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Command commenced an investigation following a report of the occupants of a vehicle throwing objects at pedestrians,” the police statement said.

‘While investigations continue, anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Eastern Suburbs Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 300 000.’
