Sen. Chuck Schumer, 73, suggests any criticism of Biden’s age is just “right-wing propaganda” and claims his mental acuity is “AMAZING” β€” even though his own DOJ said he has “diminished faculties”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday that President Biden’s mental acuity is “amazing” and that reports of his poor memory are just Republican propaganda.

The senior Democrat’s comments directly contradicted a Justice Department report released last week that claimed the president has “impaired faculties” and a “poor memory.”

The explosive report, written by special counsel Robert Hur, who investigated Biden’s handling of classified documents, described him as a “well-meaning, older man.”

Democrats are now largely rallying around the president and have repeatedly denied that Biden has lost his mental acuity.

Schumer, D-N.Y., even claimed that Biden’s mental acuity has not waned.

β€œAll this right-wing propaganda that his mental acuity has declined is wrong,” the New Yorker told reporters Tuesday morning.

President Joe Biden and his Democratic allies have said his age is not an issue

“His mental acuity is tremendous,” Schumer continued, “it’s as good as it has been over the years.”

Schumer later added that he has worked with Biden for 30 years and that the president is “doing well.”

However, a recent poll shows that the vast majority of Americans disagree.

An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Sunday found that 86 percent of Americans think Biden is “too old” to run for a second term.

Additionally, 62 percent of respondents in the poll said former President Donald Trump, 77, is also too old for another term in the White House.

Biden, already the oldest president in history, would be 82 years old when he was sworn in if elected for a second term.

Schumer, meanwhile, argued that Biden is in a prime position to win four more years in the White House.

“He will win the election because he has a great record, because more and more Americans see that record, because the economy is improving and because a large number of Americans – including Republicans – are afraid of a Donald Trump presidency.”

Concerns about Trump and Biden’s age and fitness for office have increased since September, when an ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 74 percent of Americans thought Biden was too old to serve and 49 percent thought the same about Trump.

Hur also wrote in the report that Biden could not remember when his son Beau died or when he was vice president.

These claims provoked an angry response from the president, who held a press conference to defend himself against the allegations on the same day the report was released.

β€œIt’s even said that I can’t remember when my son died,” Biden said. “How on earth does he dare bring that up?”

“I don’t need anyone, I don’t need anyone to remind me of his death.”

Additionallythe president even seemed to joke about his ‘impaired’ memory during a speech on Monday.

β€œI know it doesn’t look like it, but I’ve been there for a while,” the president said in a speech to the National Association of Counties.

β€œI remember that,” Biden added, laughing in the crowd.
