A South Florida woman disappeared in Spain after a man wearing a helmet was seen blacking out the security cameras where she was staying with spray paint, her brother said.
Ana Knezevich, 40, was going through a “tough” divorce when she went missing in Madrid on February 5 after failing to meet a friend in Barcelona as planned, her brother Felipe Henao said. NewsNation‘s CUOMO.
Her family became concerned after receiving text messages in Spanish on Ana’s phone that did not sound like they were written by the Colombian.
“That message in Spanish, it looks like it was translated by Google. She is not. She doesn’t say those things. Like no one in Spanish will say it like that,” Henao said.
The messages sent from Ana’s phone claimed that she had met someone who has a house two hours away from Madrid and that she was going there with him for a few days.

Henao said he is also concerned that authorities in Madrid are not equipped to handle Ana’s case.
‘I heard something from the police in Spain. I know they work very hard. I just don’t know if they have all the tools they need,” the concerned brother told Chis Cuomo.
‘I found out that they don’t even have a detective who speaks English and that makes it very difficult. And I think that’s ridiculous.
‘I wish there was more cooperation between US and Spanish law enforcement agencies. This is an American citizen who is missing abroad. And I just want my sister back.”
