Married At First Sight UK star details ‘horrendous’ dash to A&E on day of her mum’s funeral after ‘freak accident’
Chanita Stephenson revealed she was rushed to A&E on the day of her mother’s funeral after a ‘freak accident’.
The reality star, 32, – who appeared on Married At First Sight UK in 2022 – described her “horrendous” injury which resulted in her being admitted to hospital on Tuesday.
Chanita shared a video on her Instagram Story, updating her followers and showing off her heavily bandaged hand.
She began, “On the day of the funeral, at the wake, I was a little drunk because people kept buying me drinks, and I haven’t had a good drink in a while.
‘I spent Saturday in the hospital. Well look, I was an hour, and an hour to the emergency room.’

She announced that her mother had passed away in a heartbreaking Instagram post last month
The TV personality continued: “That’s a world record. I fell off a stall and I did a freak accident where I must have actually fallen on my nail and then my nail went this way (up) and you know how your nail comes down here (further down), it came out here.
“So the nail came all the way through. It was horrible. So I had to go to the emergency room, and you know what she did? She had to take my nail, straighten it and push my nail back into my finger.
“Because I haven’t had enough trauma for this year and it’s only February, but what’s a little more?”
Chanita announced that her mother had passed away in a heartbreaking Instagram post last month.
She shared a slew of heartwarming photos of her and her mother, Chondelle, and expressed her devastation.
Chanita wrote: ‘Chondelle Stephenson, better known as my strong, beautiful, funny, intelligent, caring, courageous mother. I miss you so much already.”
She was flooded with messages from her fans and friends, including her former co-stars, expressing their condolences.
Her fellow MAFS UK stars Megan Wolfe, Sophie Brown, Alexis Economou and Tayah Victoria all commented, with Megan writing: ‘My heart aches for you. Sending so much love.”

Vicky Pattison also messaged, writing: ‘I’m so sorry Chanita,’ while Love Island star Sharon Gaffka said: ‘Sending you the biggest hug ever Chanita! Sorry for your loss’.
Chondelle made a brief appearance on MAFS supporting Chanita on her wedding day to Jordan Emmett-Connelly.
Jordan and Chanita were the show’s ‘golden couple’ after experiencing fewer problems during their marriage than the other couples and admitting they ‘cared deeply for each other’ during their final vows.
During the ceremony, Chanita, who said she put her “heart and soul” into the process, told Jordan, “I love who you are and everything you stand for, and I’m so excited to see what the future has in store. us.
‘I can’t wait to make plans as a couple and do everything I’ve never done with you. You are my man and my naughty partner in crime. I love that you are mine and I am yours, and whatever comes, we will face it all together.”

He said, “I am willing to give you all the reassurance you want and deserve.
“I think you’re amazing and despite all the hardships we’ve been through, I wouldn’t want to waste a second of a day with you.”
However, fans were shocked when the couple split after filming for the reality TV show ended, as Jordan cut off all contact with Chanita.

Appearing on the spin-off show MAFS UK: Unveiled, Chanita told host AJ Odudu: “Coming out of the experiment, Jordan’s efforts changed significantly.
“I could just tell his heart wasn’t in it, and then he ended up talking to me on FaceTime, and that’s when I knew.
‘I want someone who appreciates me, wants to fight for me and thinks I’m great!’
The host then called Jordan via FaceTime in front of the live studio audience to explain his actions, and he admitted, “Sometimes I don’t think straight.”
