Woman dies as rental truck crashes into pole in Noble Park North, Melbourne
A woman has died after a rental car crashed into a pole in Melbourne’s south-east.
The Budget rental truck was traveling north along Jacksons Road in Noble Park North when it left the road and struck a pole just before 3am on Monday.
Emergency services rushed to the crash site and found a female passenger dead at the scene.
The 32-year-old male driver fled the crash but was tracked down a short time later by police dog squads at Noble Park, near the intersection of Elonera Road and Princes Highway.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are on scene and are trying to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
The driver has been arrested and is assisting police with the investigation. No charges have been filed.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area or allow additional travel time for detours as Jackson Road remains closed in both directions.
