REVEALED: Why Taylor Swift wasn’t allowed to see Travis Kelce the night before the Super Bowl… with pop star set to make final journey to Las Vegas today after flying to LA from Tokyo
Taylor Swift touched down in Los Angeles on Saturday ahead of her latest trip to Las Vegas today, amid NFL rules that prevented her from seeing Travis Kelce the night before the Super Bowl.
Swift wrapped up her final Eras Tour concert in Japan on Friday night and began her mad dash 5,500 miles around the world to see boyfriend Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
But instead of heading straight from Tokyo to Vegas, the pop superstar made a pit stop on Saturday night to head to her home in LA before embarking on an hour-long flight to Sin City later today.
And as revealed by TMZSwift probably did that because she shouldn’t have had any contact with Kelce the night before his big game.
NFL rules prohibit players from staying with their wives or girlfriends the nights before a game, rules that were tightened during Super Bowl week.

Chiefs and 49ers stars would therefore have been in lockdown until the later hours of Saturday evening, meaning Swift would not have been able to see her husband upon arrival in Vegas – where she would have landed around 4pm.
That would have given her just a handful of hours to get through customs and spend time with Travis before curfew.
As a result, going to her California property and spending the night before flying to Nevada on Sunday was probably the most attractive option.
Customs wouldn’t have been a problem as the guidelines would have allowed her to fly straight from Tokyo to Vegas, while the private jet parking dilemma likely wouldn’t have affected one of the world’s biggest stars.
Swift is expected to complete the short trip from Burbank airport hours before Kelce and Kansas City attempt to win a second straight Super Bowl.
That gives her plenty of time to meet the likes of Jason and Kylie Kelce – who were captured by Dailymail.com enjoying a big casino win on Saturday evening – and Travis’ mother Donna.
Despite leaving Japan at 9:30pm on Saturday evening, the music megastar arrived in LA earlier than when she left – thanks to the time difference, she landed at 3:35pm on Saturday afternoon.

Swift returned from Japan after a busy week with four sold-out performances at the Tokyo Dome – the last on Saturday night.
The pop billionaire is also fresh from winning a record-breaking fourth ‘album of the year’ Grammy – presented at a glitzy ceremony in LA as Kelce, 34, arrived in Las Vegas ahead of the Super Bowl.
Swift and Kelce’s families will share a Super Bowl suite this Sunday, a new report has confirmed, after the Kansas City star spent “well over $1 million” to reserve the seats.
Kelce joked earlier this week about “losing all the money” to make sure his family and friends could watch the game.
And according to TMZHe fulfilled that promise with Taylor’s parents Andrea and Scott, his brother Austin and his girlfriend Sydney, sitting with Travis’ parents Donna and Ed, brother Jason and sister-in-law Kylie.
Taylor is also expected to be at the game, though it’s unclear if she’ll be in the suite Kelce paid for or if she’ll be sitting separately with friends.
