TikToker mum divides opinion with ultimate ‘lazy tea’ after making spaghetti bolognese in the MICROWAVE
A woman has divided opinion online after making spaghetti bolognese using just her microwave.
Whitney Ainscough from South Yorkshire shared a tutorial on her ‘quick and easy way’ to make the classic Italian dish.
Her video, which was posted under the handle @itsmebadmom on TikTok, has already been seen by more than 1.7 million people, with commenters unsure what to make of the cooking hack.
In the clip, armed with a bag of frozen ground beef and a plate of chopped onions, she got to work preparing her dinner.
She instructed the viewers: ‘Come and have tea with me. So you want to put your frozen ground beef in a jug and then microwave it.”

The TikToker filled a plastic jug to the brim with the minced meat, then scraped some raw onions over it.
She added: ‘So this is for spaghetti bolognese and you can cook it in the microwave. Throw it all in.
“You want to put your onions in there and mix it. The onions also go in the can.
‘Then all you have to do is put it in the microwave and it will cook wonderfully. As it reduces, you can add more onions.”
She put her own jug in the microwave and explained, “Put it in there for about ten minutes and we’ll come back when it’s ready.”
She then comes back to film the results and brings out the jug of now cooked minced meat and onion.
The South Yorkshire mum said: ‘So that took about ten minutes, I mixed it halfway through.
‘It looks good. This is how you make spaghetti bolognese in a ******* microwave.

‘All you have to do now is add your chopped tomatoes, your salt, pepper, garlic.
“Add that all in here, slam it back in for five minutes and it’s done. Just put your pasta in a jug and have it ready.’
While some viewers praised the clever mum, others were quick to slam her unique cooking method, claiming it would take the same amount of time to prepare the meal in a pan with fresh ingredients.
One shocked user wrote: ‘I refuse to believe this is a thing’, while a second added: ‘I totally love a lazy tea but if you’re going to make spag bol (sic) just make spag bol’.
A third said: ‘Public service announcement: you can cook mince straight from the freezer in a pan.’
Meanwhile, others joked: ‘Spaghetti Bolacouncil Estate’ and ‘Are you on Just Eat?’
Someone else commented: ‘I should have scrolled past when I saw frozen mince but was curious.’
Others added: ‘Is this legal?’ and ‘I feel lazy when I heat my beans in the microwave. This makes me feel so much better.”

Some viewers also commented on the state of the microwave, writing, “Oh my god., look at the microwave,” alongside a crying emoji and “Microwave has been through two wars.”
However, some people defended the mother, arguing that the video is useful for those who do not have access to an oven.
One viewer said: ‘Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those without a stove this can be a lifesaver if healthy meals are available.’
Another wrote: ‘I never knew you could put minced meat in the microwave.’
A third argued: ‘This is a really good video for those who don’t have access to other facilities because they may have just moved into a new home or can’t afford a stove.
“I really think it’s good for those who don’t have the choice, so well done for giving people a new idea.”
It comes after Whitney previously racked up views for making a video about her daughters’ school shoes.
She took to TikTok in September last year to express her dismay after spending £100 to buy her daughter the very best designer shoes for the new school year, only to be told they do not comply with the uniform policy.
The mother-of-three explained how she bought the Vivienne Westwood pumps for her 11-year-old daughter, who has just started Year 7, but became angry after receiving the message from the school.
She added that she bought her daughter a new pair of school shoes, arguing that the fashion choice has no effect on her child’s ability to learn.
