Malia Obama flashes her midriff in a crop top and low-rise sweatpants while running errands in Los Angeles

Malia Obama showed off her midriff in a long-sleeved crop top and low-rise sweatpants while running errands in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The 25-year-old daughter of former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama was spotted picking up a prescription at CVS on a sunny afternoon after five days of heavy rain in Southern California.

Malia walked into the drugstore with her wallet, cell phone and car keys in her hands and was later seen leaving with a pharmacy bag and instructions as she walked to her car in the parking lot.

The screenwriter was dressed casually in a navy blue top with a light blue collar and matching piping along the sleeves.

Malia completed the look with a pair of white athletic sneakers and black sunglasses, which she wore on her head.

She was fresh-faced and her long rust-colored hair was half-up in a messy bun, with tendrils framing her face.

The former first daughter’s outing comes three weeks after she flew to Park City, Utah, to debut her short film The Heart at the Sundance Film Festival.

Malia hit the red carpet in a gray wool coat over a light blue and white pinstripe button-down shirt, a black mini skirt and tights.

The aspiring filmmaker completed the look with a pair of knee-high boots and a thin scarf reminiscent of the mid 2000s.

Malia appeared to be in good spirits and smiling as she posed for photos of herself and with other guests at the film festival.

She wrote and directed The Heart previously screened at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado and the Chicago International Film Festival, where the film was recognized in the best live-action short category.

The Harvard University graduate, who is credited as Malia Ann, previously spoke about the project on Sundance’s Meet The Artist segment.

Malia described it as ‘a strange little story, a bit of a fable, about a man who mourns the death of his mother after she leaves him an unusual request in her will.’

“The film is about lost objects and lonely people and forgiveness and regret, but I also think it works hard to discover where tenderness and closeness can exist in these things,” she said.

“We hope you enjoy the film and that it makes you feel a little less alone, or at least reminds you not to forget the people who are,” she added.

Malia made her writing debut in the Prime Video thriller series Swarm, which was directed by Donald Glover and with star Chloe Bailey.

Last year, showrunner Janine Nabers opened up about Malia’s work on the show in an interview Entertainment tonight.

“Some of her pitches were wild as hell, and they were just so good and so funny,” she said of the former first daughter. “She’s an incredible writer. She’s brought a lot to the table… She’s really, really dedicated to her craft.”

Glover, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, confirmed in March 2022 that he gave the former first daughter her first job writing for the series.

“She’s just an incredibly talented person,” he said Vanity fair from Malia. “She’s very focused and works very hard.”

Malia’s father Barack Obama later revealed during a sit-down with comedian Hasan Minhaj that he had been watching Swarm in support of his daughter.

“I watched it because, A) I was a big fan of Atlanta,” he said, referring to Glover’s FX show. “And I watched it because my daughter was working on it. So of course I have to look into it.”

Minah then asked if he watched the pilot, referencing a scene where Dre (Dominique Fishback) sees Marissa (Chloe Bailey) and Khalid (Damon Idris) having sex through the crack of an open door.

“Look, if you’re suggesting that there are aspects of that show that I found a little troubling…” the former president responded. “But that’s the nature of art today, and at (this) moment, and that’s OK.”
