Adelaide Laneway Festival: Bikinis and bare midriffs the preferred dress code as music-lovers flock to festival in scorching hot weather
Thousands of young Aussies flocked to Adelaide’s Laneway Festival and enjoyed ‘revealing’ summer fashion, with breezy tanks, bikini tops, shorts and open midriffs the dominant themes of the day.
The mercury rose to 29 degrees Celsius at Bonython Park in the city center on Friday and the crowd of young people, full of smiles and high on friendship, enjoyed an incredible line-up of musical talent including Stormzy and Dominic Fike.
Cheyanne Howard, Nevaeh Luke and Piper Monfries captured the theme of the day, with the fun ladies dressed in bikini tops and shorts, teamed with trainers and boots.

Cheyanne wore a sheer white dress over her blue and white bikini and all three ladies wore cool sunglasses on their heads.
Eowyn Hannan, Maayan Whittaker and Alex Wallace, meanwhile, showed off the exposed midriff theme, with all three decked out in light, airy tops that peaked above the belly button, denim shorts and then shoes.

Alex wore long black boots to give more of a cowgirl look.
Shorts, both shorts and cut-offs, also dominated among men.

Michael Paul, standing next to Yasmin Paul and Kian Paul, looked the epitome of summer in breezy blue and white striped shorts, a dark button-up shirt and white shoes.

However, some men were not as toned and sported a ‘daggy’ look of loose long trousers and daggy shirts.
Crazy fashion choices also permeated the scene.

A few guys were seen in matching skeleton suits, along with charmingly bizarre sunglasses and hats.
There was also a distinctly ‘hippie’ aesthetic present, reflecting the freedom that a summer music concert provides.
Some festival goers had a playful fashion sense, with a trio spotted together presenting a beautiful contrast in styles.

One is wearing all black, the man in the middle is wearing an open Hawaiian-style shirt and the other has a bright pink cap and pink skirt.
It was a warm day in Adelaide on Friday, but it didn’t reach the levels seen at Sydney Laneway, where temperatures in the Olympic Park reached the mid-30s.
Maya Castronini, Zara Parletta and Marietta Lalidis held large blue portable fans to beat the heat.
The fans not only stayed cool, but also looked great as elegant accessories.
Laneway now moves to Melbourne on Saturday before finishing in Perth on Sunday.
