Kamala comes to Biden’s defense in firing “politically motivated” and “gratuitous” hits on the president’s memory in the Hur report, saying he was firmly in command after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, when prosecutors said he had a ‘fuzzy’ memory

Vice President Kamala Harris furiously defended Joe Biden’s leadership and blasted Special Counsel Robert Hur for making “needless” efforts to address his memory loss.

Harris came to the president’s defense for hours after his own angry news conference, where he said his memory is “fine” and criticized Hur’s office for including information saying he couldn’t remember the year his son Beau died to remind.

“So the way the president’s attitude was characterized in that report could not be more wrong on the facts. And clearly politically motivated. Unnecessary,” she said. “And so I will say that when it comes to the role and responsibility of a prosecutor in a situation like this, we should expect that there will be a higher level of integrity than what we’ve seen.”

It was the White House’s most direct attack on prosecutors’ behavior authorized by Hur, whom Biden noted Thursday is a Republican.

During an event, she said she was “glad” that a reporter asked a question about it.

“Listen, I have had the privilege and pride of serving as Vice President of the United States with Joe Biden as President of the United States. And what I saw in that report last night, I believe, as a former prosecutor, the comments made by that prosecutor are unnecessary, inaccurate and inappropriate,” she said.

Harris noted, as Biden previously did, that the president conducted two days of interviews immediately after the Hamas attack on Israel.

Her defense came even as some Biden critics said the damaging claims about Biden’s memory showed he was unfit for office. Some even called for using the 25th Amendment for his temporary removal — a process that would put Harris temporarily in charge.

“October 7 – Israel has suffered a horrific attack and I can tell you we got a call. The President and I took place in the hours that followed. It was an intense moment for the Commander in Chief of the United States of America and I was at almost every meeting with the President, in the hours and days those countless hours with the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State, the heads of our intelligence community .’

She vouched for Biden’s behavior in all of this. “The president was front and center and on top of everything, asking questions and demanding that the U.S. military and intelligence community and the diplomatic community find out and know how many people were dead. How many are Americans, how many hostages, is the situation stable? He was at the forefront. “Coordinating and directing leaders responsible for America’s national security, not to mention our allies around the world,” she said.

Her own emphatic defense came after Biden criticized prosecutors and pushed back reporters at his own news conference before misstating Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during his response to a final question.

Biden Biden dropped the F-bomb in a tirade against a small group of Democratic leaders after Special Counsel Robert Hur wrote in a bombshell report that the “older” president could not remember when his son Beau died.

The shocking details are included in Hur’s 388-page report released Thursday on Biden’s “deliberate mishandling” of classified documents.

The report said Biden could not remember when his son Beau died, “not even within a few years.”

The president did not respond well to the embarrassing details.

He cursed in front of a handful of lawmakers ahead of his speech at the House Democrats’ retreat in Virginia on Thursday, sources told the Associated Press.

“Do you think I would forget the day my son died?” Biden was reportedly furious.

Beau Biden, the president’s eldest son, died in 2015 from a brain tumor. He was 46 years old at the time of his death.

While Hur said in the report that he would not file charges against Biden, the report gave a scathing description of an 81-year-old president with “diminished faculties and a defective memory.”

Biden further lashed out at the characterization of his mental capabilities and claims about his son during a hastily announced news conference at the White House on Thursday evening.

‘How on earth does he dare bring that up? Honestly, when I was asked the question, I thought to myself, ‘It was none of their damn business,'” Biden said of the special counsel.

Biden appeared to become emotional when speaking about his son, noting that he has worn his son’s rosary every day since Beau’s death.

“Every Memorial Day we hold a service in his memory, attended by friends and family and the people who loved him,” Biden told reporters. ‘I do not need anyone. I don’t need anyone to remind me when he died.’

During Biden’s fiery remarks on Thursday, he continued to push back on the special counsel’s scathing description of his mental acuity, at one point responding to the question, “My memory is fine.”

Biden pointed out Thursday that he participated in five hours of in-person interviews over two days for the investigation immediately after the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel.

“I was in the middle of dealing with an international crisis,” Biden said.
