Menangle Park crash: Terrifying moment driver falls asleep at the wheel causing huge ute smash
Terrifying dashcam footage has captured the moment a car driver who fell asleep at the wheel crashed into a car.
The incident happened around 11am on Wednesday on Menangle Road in Menangle Park, about 70 kilometers south-west of Sydney.
The horror crash forced several oncoming vehicles, including another car, to swerve before the Mitsubishi truck crashed into a white hatchback.
Dramatic video from the dashcam of a vehicle behind the white Renault Arkana captured the moment the ute crashed into the oncoming car.
The driver of the Renault tried to drive onto the wrong side of the road to avoid the collision, but the ute crashed into the front.

The hatchback’s passenger doors were badly damaged by the impact, as oncoming vehicles were forced to pull to the edge of the road to avoid hitting the two vehicles.
Moments earlier, the driver of the ute, who was asleep at the wheel, had veered into the path of oncoming traffic.
The man is said to have completed a night shift at work before returning home.
Both drivers of the vehicles involved in the accident were rushed to hospital after treatment by ambulance personnel.
Fire and rescue crews removed the two passengers from the sedan from the vehicle.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia the three people suffered minor injuries following the crash.
The 53-year-old driver of the ute, the 28-year-old female driver of the sedan and her 48-year-old passenger were all taken to Campbelltown Hospital.
A NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia they are investigating the incident.

Motorists sitting in oncoming traffic were shocked by the incident.
‘Oh my fucking god! exclaimed a woman who was a passenger in the ute.
”What the hell was he doing?”.
Another motorist in the car driving behind the sedan that was hit by the Mitsubishi was also heard cursing as the terrifying moment unfolded.
“F*** me to death,” she said.
“Jesus, fucking Christ.”
Figures from the Australian Automobile Association show deaths on roads in NSW rose from 286 to 353 between 2022 and 2023.
Last year was the deadliest on Australian roads in more than five years, with 1,253 deaths.
Drivers are urged not to drive when tired and to rest sufficiently before getting behind the wheel.
Motorists are also urged to avoid long journeys after work and long periods of driving at night.
