Doja Cat is DENIED permanent restraining order against brother Raman Dlamini … after raising allegations of physical and verbal abuse

Doja Cat was unsuccessful in her quest to enforce a permanent restraining order against her older brother Raman Dlamini.

The Grammy-winning artist, 28, had previously filed court papers seeking a permanent restraining order amid previous similar allegations from their mother Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer. The explosion reported Thursday.

Sawyer said Raman, 30, physically and verbally abused the pop star — at one point knocking out her teeth — in a lawsuit filed Jan. 12 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Sawyer said Raman also abused her because she felt “unsafe” with him, the newspaper reported after reviewing court papers.

According to the newspaper, Sawyer was initially granted a restraining order over the allegations, which was extended for another five years.

The Say So artist’s restraining order was dismissed by the court after she accused him of stealing from her, destroying her belongings and physically assaulting her, leaving cuts and bruises in the aftermath.

Sawyer supported the Paint the Town Red singer’s claims in court filings last month that Raman’s behavior left her “unsafe and traumatized.”

Sawyer said that “Raman destroyed and stole property,” and “verbally assaulted” Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, “in a very humiliating and humiliating manner.”

“I need these orders to protect the physical and emotional well-being of all named parties,” Sawyer told the court. ‘I am concerned and afraid not only of physical violence, but also of the enormous mental and emotional damage that is being done.’

Sawyer said her son’s behavior had left her in a state of “constant anxiety and fear.”

Sawyer said Raman also verbally abused her 13-year-old grandson with a barrage of “insults, derogatory and demeaning comments.”

Raman told a photographer in Los Angeles last month that he did not know who Doja Cat was, and that “no restraining order” had been issued against him.

Raman said there was “no story” and that he “hadn’t seen anyone in years.”

The NHIE artist spoke about her upbringing in a December 2021 profile for Rolling stoneexplaining that she and her older sibling had faced discrimination while growing up in Oak Park, a suburb of Los Angeles.

“People were very racist and very rude and unhinged and weird,” she said.

In the article, a former nanny of the pop star said that Raman’s behavioral problems “took up a lot of space in that household” and that therefore “there may not have been room for (Doja’s) feelings.”
