Holly Willoughby reunites with This Morning co-star four months after quitting the ITV show

Holly Willoughby was reunited with a This Morning co-star on Wednesday night, four months after quitting the ITV show.

The former host, 42, enjoyed a girls’ night with Clodagh McKenna, with the chef cooking up a storm for her guests.

Together with two of their other friends, the former colleagues enjoyed a chocolate pudding with cherries.

Proving they’re still as close as ever, Clodagh documented their evening on Instagram, writing: Hot chocolate pudding at home with my beautiful girls.’

Holly reshared the photo on her own story, adding: “Dreamy evening, thank you Clodagh.”

Holly quit This Morning in October last year when she became the subject of a terrifying kidnapping plot.

Meanwhile, Clodagh is a regular chef on the ITV programme, often appearing alongside Holly in the cooking segments.

It comes as Holly could continue her TV career in America after leaving This Morning last year when she became the subject of a terrifying kidnapping plot.

Now a free agent for the first time in her career, she is eager to explore opportunities across the pond and draw a line under her domestic problems.

After her ‘year from hell’, which saw her become embroiled in Phillip Schofield’s controversial This Morning exit and become the subject of the kidnap plot, Holly could continue her TV career in America.

It’s a scenario that seemed highly unlikely 18 months ago, when in-demand Holly was embroiled in a contract battle between ITV and the BBC.

But for the first time in her career, she is now a free agent and is eager to explore opportunities across the pond and draw a line under her domestic problems.

It’s a prospect she’s “excited” about, even though discussions are still at a relatively early stage.

With her three children in school and her husband Dan Baldwin running a highly successful TV production company, a move to the United States would be a huge step for everyone involved, which she is well aware of.

But for now, the Dancing On Ice host thinks it can’t hurt to see what’s out there and find out if she can follow in the footsteps of fellow countrymen James Corden and Cat Deeley by landing lucrative TV jobs across the country to get to the pond.

A source said: ‘Holly has had an incredibly tough year, it has really drained her.

‘She thought long and hard about returning for Dancing On Ice and it turned out to be the right decision, getting her back in the mood.

‘Jobs in America have always been in the back of her mind, but due to circumstances they have now become a real reality and she is enthusiastic about that.

“Discussions are happening and she’s in no rush to take on any role, but if there’s a performance she’s passionate about in the United States, she now has the freedom to explore it.”

He left the show after admitting to having an affair with a younger colleague and lying to his co-star when questioned about the mounting speculation.

After returning to the ITV program without him, Holly was mocked for the statement she made addressing the nation and asking if viewers were ‘okay’ after the revelation.

She then suffered another setback when a man was arrested for an alleged plot to kidnap and kill her, leaving her terrified.

According to reports, she was too scared to leave her home after Gavin Plumb was charged with the crime, forcing her off the air for months.

She debated whether to present Dancing On Ice with new co-host Stephen Mulhern, and ultimately decided to return to work in the new year.

But it could be the last British show she presents before heading to America, with sources close to Holly saying it is the first time in her career that she has been a ‘free agent’ and is looking for new perspectives.

A source told the Sun on Sunday that she is meeting with ‘American bigwigs’, including bosses at streaming platform Disney+.

They explained, “Holly is a free agent and for the first time in years, she is free to be courted by these massive streaming platforms.

“A number of US networks and production companies have been interested in her for some time and she has attracted the attention of some major brands.”

Holly won’t be the first British star to crack America.
