Makeup expert reveals very common beauty mistake that makes women look years OLDER… so, are YOU guilty of it?

A makeup expert has revealed a common beauty mistake that can age the elderly over 30 – and change your entire routine.

The information was shared in a TikTok video by the Canada-based content creator Raelynn Reimerwho has amassed thousands of followers on social media.

Reimer often uses her online platforms to share makeup tips, tricks, and hacks, as well as content about motherhood and mental health.

In a recently surfaced clip First posted last March, Reimer explained that applying powder under eye makeup can actually accentuate your wrinkles, making you look older.

“Whether we like it or not, as we age, the skin under our eyes becomes more fragile and fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear,” the mother of three explained at the beginning of the video.

“When we use a powder to set our under-eye makeup, it actually accentuates those fine lines and wrinkles, creating a more cakey, defined texture.”

Fortunately, however, Reimer had a clever solution to the problem.

She recommended using a setting spray to set your under-eye makeup instead of a loose powder.

“Take a dampened (sponge) and gently spray it with your setting spray,” she explained, doing the step with her own makeup sponge and spray.

‘Then go in carefully and tap this under (your) eyes.’

The beauty guru showed viewers exactly how she did that step, twisting the sponge to fit the skin under her eyes perfectly.

“What this is going to do is remove excess product and ensure that the makeup lasts all day,” Reimer explained.

Goodbye, wrinkles under the eyes! Raelynn’s tips for smooth application

  • Instead of using setting powder, Raelynn instructed to use a setting spray instead
  • She instructed viewers to apply the setting spray to a makeup sponge
  • Then dab the wet sponge into the under eyes

‘See the difference?’ she asked, showing her face.

To demonstrate the contrast, Reimer used her index finger to pull down under-eye hair and test the makeup.

On her left under eye, which was dusted with powder, the wrinkles and creases seemed to be more noticeable than on her right eye, which looked smooth and supple thanks to the setting spray trick.

In the comments section, one person even admitted that the trick “changed their life.”

“This TikTok has changed my life,” the user wrote.

‘No lie. Thank you.’

Another agreed: ‘Oohhh great idea!!!’

However, Reimer isn’t the only one who has shared a version of this hack on TikTok.

In November, makeup and beauty influencer Kelly Strack revealed how to use this technique to your advantage when applying foundation.

The best part? Strack’s tip only takes 10 seconds.

Instead of setting the foundation with a powder, Strack instructed viewers to spray some setting spray onto a damp makeup sponge and dab it around the face.

She explained that this trick was the simple key to avoiding that cakey look when wearing foundation.

“I’m going to press the foundation and blend it into the skin, this will help to not only set the foundation with the setting spray, but also smooth and blend everything flawlessly,” Strack explained in her video.
