Holly Valance for PM? Tories urge former Neighbours star and pop pin-up to join them as an MP – after she ‘spoke for a nation’ with her rant against ‘crap’ woke lefties
Prominent members of the Conservative party are calling on former Neighbors star Holly Valance to stand as MP after the actress and singer ‘spoke for a nation’ with her no-nonsense Tory views at last night’s Pop Con launch .
Yesterday, Holly, 40, emerged as a staunch supporter of the Tory Right during a surprise appearance at the launch of the group ‘Popular Conservatism’ together with her billionaire real estate magnate husband Nick Candyadmitting that she was probably ‘more right’ than he was.
The couple listened to speeches from ex-prime minister Liz Truss and former business secretary Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, with Holly revealing afterwards how she was drawn to the Tory right after shunning ‘nonsense ideas’ from ‘leftists’ earlier in her life.
The move is not as bizarre as it seems, with a former minister telling MailOnline it would be an ‘excellent idea’ if Holly Vallance could be convinced to stand as a Tory candidate at the election.
Another veteran Tory said Vallance had been a regular at parties with her husband for at least a decade and said the idea of the former pop star becoming a parliamentary candidate “could very well happen”.
“Holly could be a secret weapon for the Tories,” the insider told MailOnline.
‘They need all the stardust they can get, and in a world where people are fed up with politicians identical to Keir Starmer, who are afraid of their own shadows, she can be a breath of fresh air.’
