Paul Gallen and Sonny Bill Williams will work side by side for Channel Nine’s coverage of the NRL Grand Final, just months after a heated behind-the-scenes showdown.
But the broadcaster has reportedly decided to put aside the feud between the two, with both Williams and Gallen continuing their roles as analysts ahead of the premiership decision between Parramatta and Penrith at Accor Stadium on Sunday.
According to the Daily TelegramNine made the decision despite Gallen hoping he would no longer have to work on the air with the former All Blacks star.

The two former rugby league greats turned boxers have long traded barbs over a potential match, which never materialized, largely because the pair were unable to agree on the terms of the deal.
Gallen and Williams resumed their verbal sparring in July, as they were part of Nine’s coverage of the match between Parramatta and the Warriors.
During a post-match discussion, Williams suggested that Gallen agree to a 60-40 deal in favor of the two-time Rugby World Cup winner.
“You know the deal man, you know the deal. Sign it, brother,” Williams said.

The showdown continued behind the scenes, before Gallen abruptly walked away
Gallen and Williams were then shown an animated behind-the-scenes discussion, which only ended when the former Cronulla star abruptly left.
The former Cronulla captain has since claimed that he never received an offer for the fight and that Williams “made up” the story, calling the Kiwi star “lame” and “boring” for seemingly suggesting there was a fight. between the duo was at stake.
