California homeless woman, 27, ‘shoots dead music producer’ who worked with Travis Scott and Lil Cobaine – just weeks after another female vagrant was accused of killing social justice activist

A homeless California woman has been accused of fatally shooting a music producer who worked with Travis Scott and Lil Cobaine.
Kayla Delise Mackie, 27, was charged with fatally shooting William James Edwards III in Santa Monica on Jan. 25.
Police responded to a report of shots fired and found Edwards in his parked car.
He was rushed to hospital but later died of his injuries, according to a police statement.
Mackie was seen leaving the area and was picked up the next day, according to police, who said she was also behind a string of other crimes in LA “including an armed robbery and an attempted murder.”

Friends from the entertainment industry, including rapper Lil Cobaine, paid tribute to the father-of-two
Kayla Delise Mackie, 27, was charged with fatally shooting Edwards, along with several other crimes
Edwards worked in the entertainment industry and his IMDb lists Travis Scott and Lil Cobain among his collaborators.
Lil Cobaine paid tribute to Edwards on Instagram, saying, “To say we were friends would put a damper on the brotherhood we built and the moments and memories we collected in the nine years we were FAMILY. You meant the world to me.”
Edwards is survived by his two sons Levi and G. Williams the Fourth.
Lil Cobaine added that the children would be taken care of in his will.
“There are so many important memories we shared, so many laughs, cries, arguments, breakthroughs and iconic stories you told me that people couldn’t even fathom, and I will respect your privacy as I always have and will continue to do,” said he. added.
A GoFundMe set up to support the boys also paid tribute to the ‘talented’ producer, who has also appeared in several short films.
“We all know how he touched our lives with his personality, his talent and his love,” it said.
“Will has many friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry. He was also devoted to his AA and NA community.

‘I’ve seen him help people from meetings who ended up back on the streets. A talented man who excelled in everything he did.’
Police said the motive for the crime was “still under investigation.”
Mackie is being held on a $2 million bond at the Century Regional Detention Facility, according to booking records.
The shooting comes just weeks after another unhoused woman was accused of fatally shooting a social justice activist.
Michael Latt, the founder of the charity Lead with Love, was found seriously injured in his Mid-City home in November and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Jameelah Elena Michl, 36, was charged with the 33-year-old’s murder.
