However, the twins’ official cause of death has not been released Local10 reported that they were foaming at the mouth.

WSVN reported that a 911 dispatcher described them as having cardiac arrest.

It is believed that Alcime attempted suicide by jumping over a bridge onto the train tracks below, leaving her children in her car.

Police have not indicated whether they suspect she deliberately killed her daughters before the suicide attempt.

Despite the considerable distance between the bridge and the train tracks, Alcime survived and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

She is in critical condition and according to local reports she was in a coma.

A friend of the mother said her actions were “nothing like hers at all,” and Caldet said he had no idea what happened after not reaching Alcime for several days.

Through an interpreter, the father said, “I went to the office, I called her, but she didn’t answer… she’s not that kind of person.”

Describing his daughters as fun and excited young children, he said: “Normally when I come in they come and hug me. I really can’t, I can’t talk right now.’

Alcime’s friend, Suzette Walker Morant, said she was stunned to hear of the tragedy, which was unlike the woman she knew to be a loving mother.

“That’s not her, there must be something wrong with her to do something like that,” she said.

‘The person I know would never do something like that. That’s really sad to know that the children died so young, because she’s not that kind of person.

“It’s so mind-boggling right now to find out what really went wrong.”

Police say the investigation is still active.

“At this time, our investigators are working to piece together this tragic incident,” said Detective Andre Martin of the Miami-Dade Police Department.

“There are a lot of questions they have that they are working on to find the answers.”
