New Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh says he wants to start his tenure in Los Angeles by living in an RV next to the water or Disneyland.

Yes, you read that correctly. The man who just signed a five-year, $80 million deal to leave the Michigan Wolverines and sign for the Chargers after leading his alma mater to a national championship now wants to live in a mobile home instead of one of the countless luxurious mansions of Southern California.

“I want to drive my RV out and go to a trailer park on the water or at Disneyland, the two that I looked into that are close to the facility,” said Harbaugh, who was unveiled in LA earlier this week.

“I want to give it to Jim Rockford for the next few months until we move into the new facility. That thought goes through my mind.’

What may be even more shocking is that Harbaugh’s wife, Sarah, apparently signed off on his unorthodox idea, although it was not specified whether she would join him in the RV.

In less bizarre news from his introductory press conference, Harbaugh also said he plans to build his around the team’s most talented players, such as quarterback Justin Herbert and safety Derwin James Jr.

He even went so far as to call Herbert a “crown jewel in the National Football League.”

‘What strikes me is an enormous talent. I wake up really early in the morning these days thinking, ‘I’ve got to take it,'” Harbaugh said.

“I have to bring my A-game. I need to hire a coaching staff that is worthy of coaching Justin, Derwin and all the guys.

“I really think about my responsibility and make sure I’m ready.”

In addition to building around Herbert and other key players, Harbaugh and Co will have to clean up the team’s salary cap situation – which could see several big names leave LA.

The Chargers are currently $44 million over the salary cap and could part ways with big names like Khalil Mack or Keenan Allen to resolve their financial situation.
