Officials have released images of massive cracks in a frozen Wisconsin lake and warned residents to avoid the thin ice.

The Harrison Fire Department posted two videos of a mile of cracks and floating ice in Harrison Lake to Facebook on Jan. 30.

The first video is located about 2,000 feet from shore at Firelane 8 and shows a huge crack running east to west on one side of the lake.

Fire officials said the weather has seen temperatures above freezing over the past two weeks, leading to worsening ice conditions.

“We strongly recommend staying off the ice if possible. Remember that no ice is 100 percent safe,” it added.
