Luke Littler’s hopes of reaching the final on his Premier League debut were ended in a thrilling 6-5 defeat to Michael Smith.

The 17-year-old star hit six 180s in a match of the highest quality as he fought his way back from 4-2 down.

Littler hit the target and broke back at 4-3, after which the match entered the deciding leg with a throw.

Smith held his nerve after Littler – who averaged 105.31 – missed a double 15 match dart to clinch the double top and set up a final date with home favorite Gerwyn Price.

Smith then silenced the Cardiff crowd by beating hometown favorite Price 6–2 in the final.

Price won the opening stage, but after that it was virtually one-way traffic as Smith rattled off five straight stages.

Smith lost the seventh leg to a disappointing Price, but in a fifth 180 of the match, the 2023 world champion crossed the line in emphatic fashion.
