Jennifer Lopez is seen for first time in the sci-fi movie Atlas as she wears curly hair to play an intelligence analyst who gets stranded on a distant planet

Jennifer Lopez is set to star in a new science fiction adventure film titled Atlas.

The 54-year-old actress made her first appearance in the film during a Netflix sizzle reel from their 2024 projects shared on Thursday.

Lopez was in one black top and her hair was curled in a shaggy style, much like nude makeup.

The 54-year-old Bronx resident seemed terrified as things seemed to be going horribly wrong.

Atlas focuses on a brilliant data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence who joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past.

She stars alongside Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown and Abraham Popoola in the film from director Brad Peyton and writer Aron Eli Coleite.

Lopez produces Atlas through her production company Nuyorican Productions and their deal with Netflix.

Lopez and her production partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and longtime manager Benny Medina have a deal with the streaming service.

The pact with Netflix was announced in June 2021, where they will produce a range of films, TV series, scripted and unscripted content, with a focus on projects that support diverse female actors, writers and filmmakers.

Lopez was last seen in director Niki Caro’s film The Mother, starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Joseph Fiennes, Paul Raci and Omari Hardwick.

And she was also in Shotgun Wedding with Josh Duhamel, Jennifer Coolidge and D’Arcy Carden.

Next up in her film This Is Me…Now starring Derek Hough and Trevor Noah, premiering this month.

This comes after Trevor Noah said he thought it was a “joke” when Lopez called to ask him to be in her video.

The 39-year-old comedian is one of several famous faces set to appear in the Hustlers star’s upcoming Prime Video musical film This Is Me… Now: A Love Story and admitted he was impressed when he was asked to participate.

He told People magazine: ‘That was a random call where your phone rings, and it’s Jennifer Lopez, and you’re like, “This has to be a prank.”

“And she wants you to come and do a cameo in her visual experience, and you’re like, ‘Wow. I mean, I don’t know what I’m doing, but okay, I’m in.’

Joining Jennifer, her husband Ben Affleck and Trevor in the film are Fat Joe, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara and Derek Hough, and the former ‘Daily Show’ host had ‘a lot of fun’ filming – too although he has no idea what the end result will look like.

He said: ‘There’s just a nice collection of people who have come together to celebrate an icon and someone who, across different genres, has really forged her own path. It was very fun.

‘I’m very curious to know what it is. The funny thing is, I don’t know much about it because they were very secretive about how they did it.

‘I only know what it is, but I don’t know everything. I’m also waiting to see what it will be like.’

Meanwhile, Trevor is preparing to host the Grammy Awards again and thinks the show offers “one of the best concerts” fans could ask for.

He said, “I don’t think there are many shows that can rival what the Grammys put on in terms of a collection of artists.

“Where else are you going to see Dua Lipa, Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, you name it, on the same stage? That’s something I don’t take for granted and something I really enjoy.’

In November, the Marry Me actress, 54, posted a music video for her 253 million Instagram followers that revealed images from the new album.

The clip starts with ‘Hear It’. Seeing it. Live it. Share it.’ in gold over green, the Jenny From the Block singer’s lucky color.

The slide also features an image of a hummingbird, which she said has been one of her favorite birds in the past.

The opening shots gave way to quick shots of the Wedding Planner actress — who set her Thanksgiving table with $500 Hermes plates — dancing at a wedding, in a factory, in the rain and in a Greek setting.

“This musical experience is a manifestation, through music, film and reality, of a life journey in search of the truth about love,” she wrote.

This is Me…Now is the Let’s Get Loud hitmaker’s ninth studio album and her first new music since 2014, apart from the Marry Me with Maluma soundtrack.

Notably, the LP is a follow-up to This Is Me…Then (2002), which landed in the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart upon release.

The 2002 album was inspired by Jennifer’s first relationship with her current husband Ben Affleck, 51.

They broke up, married other people: Jennifer Garner, 51, for Ben and Marc Anthony, 55 for JLo.

Ben welcomed three children with Garner, while Lopez shares twins with Anthony.

The new album contains songs such as To Be Yours, Mad in Love, Greatest Love Story Never Told, Rebound, This Time Around and Dear Ben Pt. II, Billboard reported.

The couple got married in Las Vegas and the album includes a song called Midnight Train to Vegas, which is undoubtedly about the surprise elopement in Sin City.

The album is scheduled for 2024, but in the video clip on Instagram, the Gigli star promises more news on Monday.
