Margot Robbie left a stag do speechless after interrupting their Barbie debate during a night out in a remote Scottish pub
Margot Robbie recalls the hilarious moment she interrupted a group of men debating her hit film Barbie during a raucous hen party.
The beautiful actress was enjoying a night out in a remote Scottish pub at the height of Barbie’s box office success when she overheard the men talking about the film.
“I had a wonderful experience,” she told the audience at a special screening of the film in Los Angeles, organized by actors’ union SAG-AFTRA.
‘I was in a pub in the middle of nowhere in Scotland and listened to a group of lads at a stag party discussing the Barbie movie for about 30 minutes, not realizing I was sitting three feet away from them.’

The beautiful actress was enjoying a night out in a remote Scottish pub at the height of Barbie’s box office success when she overheard the men talking about the film.
‘It was just very fascinating. There were people at the table who refused to see the Barbie movie.”
‘One guy said, “Dude, this is a cultural moment, don’t you want to be part of the culture?” And the other man said, “I’ll never see it,” and towards the end he wanted to see it. It was a big deal.
Margot added that she ‘wasn’t going to go to them’ but changed her mind as she left the pub.
“I went to their table and said, ‘Thanks for seeing the Barbie movie.’ It was very funny, they lost it. It took them a full minute to realize it and I was practically out the door and they went “Ohhhh”‘.
Margot said that ‘people’s reactions to the film have been the biggest reward of this whole experience. Whether it’s one of those moments, or listening in the bathroom, or looking at what people are writing online.’
‘I’ve never taken part in anything like this before. Not like this.’
Margot broke her silence on Barbie director Greta Gerwig’s controversial criticism of the Oscars a Q&A organized by the Academy Museum on Tuesday.
“Obviously, I think Greta should be nominated as a director, because what she did is something you only do once in a career, and what she accomplished, that’s really it. But it has been an incredible year for all films,” she said.
“I listened to a group of guys at a bachelor party discussing the Barbie movie for about 30 minutes, not realizing I was sitting two feet away from them,” Margot revealed.
Both Margot and director Greta Gerwig were shockingly snubbed for individual Oscar nominations, despite the film receiving eight other nods
Both Margot, 33, and Greta, 40, were shockingly snubbed for individual Oscar nominations, despite the film receiving eight other nods — including Best Supporting Actor for the actor who played Barbie’s sidekick Ken, Ryan Gosling, a nod for Best Supporting Actress for America Ferrera, and the Best Picture nomination.
Many felt that Margot, who also produced Barbie, deserved a nomination for Best Actress and Greta for Best Director.
The actress didn’t elaborate on her own Oscar buzz, but emphasized that they were “beyond ecstatic” that the film had earned eight Oscar nominations.
“We wanted to do something that would change the culture, impact the culture, just make some kind of impact. And that has already happened, and some love much more than we could ever have imagined. And that is truly the greatest reward that can come from all of this.
