Fulham are pushing to land Chelsea striker Armando Broja before Thursday’s transfer deadline… but Blues are holding out for £50MILLION for the Albanian striker

  • Fulham are keen to strengthen their attacking options before the end of the window
  • Chelsea are not willing to let young striker Armando Broja leave cheaply
  • £50 million for a reserve striker?! How can Chelsea demand that price for Armando Broja? It all starts Transferweek podcast

Fulham want to negotiate a deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja before Thursday’s transfer deadline, but the move depends on the player’s £50million valuation.

As revealed on the last one It’s all Kicking Off podcastTalks are underway about a move to West London for the talented centre-forward, but a move is on the cards.

The key factor in both clubs completing a successful deal is seen as Chelsea’s determination to recoup a huge sum for the 22-year-old.

If the Blues want to sell Broja permanently this month, they have told Fulham they want £50 million.

Likewise, any loan deal, which Fulham are open to, should include a purchase obligation for that same amount.

Mailsport understands that the Cottagers are reluctant to meet that asking price.

Talks are ongoing between the clubs as Fulham try to negotiate a lower fee, with sources indicating the deal could be done in the final hours of the transfer window.

Broja is also attracting interest from Wolves, where finances are tight due to FFP restrictions.

Nevertheless, the Albanian striker could emerge as the frontrunner on transfer deadline day after a relatively slow spell in January.

There was skepticism over the £50m price tag on the latest It’s All Kicking Off podcast

Ian Ladyman, co-host of the It’s All Kicking Off podcast, said: ‘Attackers are always the most expensive, almost always the most valuable asset. But what I think this is about is one club being close to the PSR (Premier League Spending Rules) limit.

‘Sell a player for something you know is exaggerated and then free up some space to relax, catch your breath and maybe sign a player. I don’t think Fulham will go for £50m anytime soon.’

Ladyman’s skepticism about the high price tag was met by Mike Keegan, who co-hosted Wednesday’s It all kicks off the Transfer Week podcast.

Keegan said: ‘In the transfer window, no one is more valuable than strikers. You get to January and there is a desperation for goals above all else.

‘Maybe that’s Chelsea trying to make money from that, or maybe they’re just switching their arm. But it sure seems like… you just wouldn’t pay it, right? I don’t see Fulham paying for it.’
