Toddler fighting for life after horrific smash between a truck and two cars at Palgarup on South-Western Highway

A toddler is fighting for his life after a horror crash between two cars and a truck.

The collision occurred near the intersection of the South Western Highway and Babarrup Road in Pagarup, in the south-west of Western Australia, about 7.45am on Tuesday.

The three-year-old boy was seriously injured in the crash and was airlifted to Perth Children’s Hospital.

He is still in critical condition in hospital.

A 30-year-old woman was also slightly injured in the accident and was treated at the scene.

A WA Police spokesperson confirmed the major crash unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The crash halted traffic on the highway in both directions for hours as the helicopter needed space to land.
