Abbie Chatfield blasts Byron Bay in epic rant after moving there and says the beaches are overrated: ‘There’s no Ubers or phone reception!’

Abbie Chatfield didn’t hold back on Tuesday as she launched an extraordinary tirade against popular NSW tourist destination Byron Bay, despite moving there just two years ago.

The reality star, 28, lambasted the famous seaside town in her latest episode It is much podcast, claiming that the way it is perceived does not reflect reality.

‘Everyone acts as if Byron Bay has the most beautiful beaches in the world. Have you been to Perth or Tamarama or literally anywhere else in Australia?’ she started.

‘People say it’s so beautiful, but you can’t actually think that. No Ubers, no reception and everything closes at 2pm. You can’t get a facial anywhere.’

Chatfield said you “can’t chill” in Byron Bay because there’s nothing to do there, before mocking the city’s beauty industry.

“The only facials are turmeric and goo. Give me a fucking king needle in the face!’ she raged.

“Everyone thinks Byron is what it used to be, when in fact it’s just… fine. When I was younger it was like Yamba, it was very cold, very strange. There were a lot of crochet shops.’

Abbie’s fans were quick to praise her for sharing her thoughts on the famous holiday hotspot.

‘The beaches in WA are all over Byron. Highly overrated,” one fan snapped.

‘I totally agree! I’m glad someone said what everyone else is thinking,” a second user added.

‘I don’t often agree with her, but she is so striking!’ a third person intervened.

Byron Bay has a population of just 6,500 and is a popular tourist destination for its beautiful beaches and relaxing atmosphere. It wouldn’t typically be a place people would think of if they wanted a vibrant environment.

It seems like Chatfield recently made a bad impression of Byron, as she loved the area enough in 2021 to buy a $1.45 million cottage there.

Sharing images from her new home, Abbie revealed that her first purchase for her new property was a custom-made wooden table for her kitchen.

Located in NSW’s Byron Bay Hinterland, her new home was described as a private retreat.

She has also been spotted there several times while on vacation, most recently earlier this month when she was seen walking her dog in a white crop top.
