Lambert, 42, will lead the talent at the show, which will be held at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on March 2 after the parade.

Peniston will also perform at the event alongside Ultra Nate and Keiynan Lonsdale.

The 2024 Mardi Gras starts on February 16 with the raising of the flag at Sydney Town Hall.

The first major event will take place on Sunday, February 18, where the community will celebrate in Victoria Park on Broadway.

Lambert was a finalist on American Idol in 2009 and has since built a hugely successful career as the frontman for Queen + Adam Lambert.

During his trip to Australia last year, Lambert revealed the style of music he will never perform.

When he spoke to Today entertainment reporter Brooke Boney in March, he was asked if there are any songs that are too stylistically striking for him.

Adam, who was in Australia to promote his fifth studio album High Drama, said he doesn’t think he can do heavy metal and contemporary R&B.

This is despite the fact that he performed the Metallica song Enter Sandman at a Halloween concert in 2022.

Speaking about his new album of covers, Adam also said the recording process was a “challenge.”

“I love making music, and with this project it was so fun to get into the studio and take on a challenge,” he said.

“We took songs that were already written and came up with ways to completely revise them.”
