NFL on CBS analyst Boomer Esiason had an eventful train ride when he was confronted by an upset Baltimore Ravens fan after his team lost the AFC Championship game.

While waiting at the Baltimore Amtrak station on Sunday after the Ravens’ 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, a Ravens fan confronted Esiason and two other CBS analysts: Nate Burleson and Bill Cowher.

Esiason revealed the details from WFAN’s morning show on Monday, with the former quarterback calling the fan an “a**pe, douchebag” and suspecting he was drunk.

The fan complained to Esiason and Cowher that the NFL had “rigged” the game – with Taylor Swift part of the distraught Ravens man’s theory.

Cowher turned on the fan, who got in the face of the Hall-of-Famer and former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach as they tried to watch the NFC Championship game on Esiason’s iPad.

“The coach is great because he defends the NFL, like, ‘I don’t want to hear any bullshit from a drunk fan who just lost a bet.’ He will die with that shield…” Esiason said of Cowher.

“If he comes any closer, I might have to get up and punch this guy in the face.” I’m so angry right now.

“I’m trying to watch the game and this idiot is yelling about how the NFL is rigged and it’s this, that and the other.”

Esiason said Burleson was not with the group, but once he arrived, the former wide receiver “was ready to get out of his suit and rip this guy’s face off… He was right in the middle of it.”

Esiason took stock of the situation and figured he would be the one to step in if things got physical — since he had the least to lose with Cowher anchored in Canton and Burleson playing a role at CBS News.

“If I had done it, no one would have cared. If (Cowher) had done it, it would have been everywhere,” Esiason explained, although WFAN co-host Gregg Giannotti disagreed.

Another Ravens fan intervened and cooled tensions before anything turned physical. But Baltimore police were involved before the situation dissipated.

“Why is this Nimrod coming to us screaming that he was rigged and that they wanted Taylor Swift in the Super Bowl?” said Esiason.

CBS has the rights to cover this year’s Super Bowl – which means Esiason, Cowher and Burleson will all be in Las Vegas in the coming days.

Unfortunately for the conspiracy theorist, the Kansas City Chiefs will be playing for Super Bowl LVIII glory against the San Francisco 49ers.
