Luton Town have moved to Leeds United following the signing of Japanese right-back Daiki Hashioka from Belgian club Sint-Truiden.

Discussions have taken place over a £2million deal for the 24-year-old who is keen to move to Kenilworth Road.

Leeds approached about signing Hashioka but were concerned about a possible injury he had recently suffered.

Hashioka started his career for Urawa Red Diamonds in his home country before joining Sint-Truiden, initially on loan, in 2021.

Although not part of Japan’s Asia Cup squad, he has been picked on by them in the past and made five appearances for them last year.

He has been a regular for Sint-Truiden this season, making 19 appearances even though they are only in the middle of the Belgian Pro League.
