Newcastle struggled through the FA Cup tie against Fulham and reached the fifth round on Saturday evening.
Sean Longstaff opened the scoring just before half-time after a brief VAR check following a Bruno Guimaraes handball in the build-up, but it stood and Dan Burn scored against his former side just after the hour mark.
Marco Silva became frustrated with his side’s inability to score goals again, and his heavily rotated side were eliminated from a second cup competition within days.
