Bryce Dallas Howard broke her silence on the Taylor Swift Argylle conspiracy theory when she appeared on Friday’s upcoming episode of The Graham Norton Show.

The upcoming spy film is based on a yet-to-be-published novel by Elly Conway and RThere are many rumors that Elly is a pseudonym for Taylor.

However, Bryce, 42, poured cold water on the claims, saying: ‘We can’t pretend she was involved. The reality is that she was a great inspiration in many ways.

“She’s a cat lady, she has a great backpack with a cat in it that she walks around with, she loves a good argyle sweater, and there’s a kind of unapologetic dorkiness about her. That’s a bit like my character.’

Bryce was joined by co-star Bryan Cranston on the red couch to promote their spy action comedy Argylle, which premiered on Wednesday.

Argylle also stars Samuel L. Jackson, John Cena, Catherine O’Hara, Richard E. Grant and another pop star, Dua Lipa.

Bryce played Elly Conway in the film and Bryan played Ritter.

Fan theories about Taylor’s involvement in the film have centered around the fact that a cat featured heavily in the film is of the same breed as Taylor’s: the Scottish Fold.

The movie cat also has her own Instagram page where various Taylor hints have been posted, such as the lyrics of her hit song.

The film’s director, Matthew Vaughn, also denied rumors of Taylor’s involvement in an interview Rolling stone.

He said, ‘There is a real book… and it is a very good book. And there’s an Elly Conway who wrote the book, but it’s not Taylor Swift,” he clarified in a new interview with Rolling Stone.

“I read the conspiracies and I thought, wow, they’re leaving no stone unturned! But it’s not Taylor Swift. She definitely didn’t write the book.’

Also on Graham Norton’s couch for Friday’s episode were Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Daniel Kaluuya, Kevin Bridges and Guy Garvey from the band Elbow.

Bradley, 49, and Carey, 38, discussed their film Maestro, released in November, a biopic about American composer Leonard Bernstein.

Daniel, 34, was asked if winning an Oscar for Judas and the Black Messiah changed his life.

He said, ‘It’s crazy. When we went to a party, everyone just gravitated towards me. It was great because it was right after the pandemic and everyone was away. I was so happy.’

When asked if he will return to acting full-time, Daniel said: “I’m looking forward to it and according to my accounts I should, but I’m in no rush. When the right thing comes, the right thing comes.”
