Elliot Page steps out for NYC stroll after his indie film Close to You scores distribution deal

Elliot Page stepped out for a casual stroll around New York City on Thursday evening.

The transgender pioneer – who turns 37 next month – dressed his petite 6-foot-4 frame in a khaki-black corduroy jacket over a black T-shirt, brown pants and black hiking boots.

Elliot – whose gender confirmation was in 2020 – outfitted with a black beaded necklace, a matching shoulder bag and a pair of Apple AirPods.

Page’s street sighting came the day after trans director Ary Zara publicly thanked him for his “faith and generosity” as director in the production of his short film An Avocado Pit, which was shortlisted for the Oscars.

Sadly, the 19-minute drama about a meeting between a trans woman and a cis man in Lisbon failed to secure an Academy Award nomination for best live-action short film when announced on January 23.

“While the nomination eluded us, the journey itself was extraordinary and successfully fulfilled our primary goal: to share this compelling story with as many hearts as possible,” Ary further wrote. Instagram.

Elliot wrote, produced and stars as Sam – a transgender man who returns to his hometown on Lake Ontario – in Dominic Savage’s largely improvised drama.

“This was personally a complete highlight of my career,” Page — who scored an Oscar nod for Juno in 2007 — said People on September 11.

“(Dominic’s) process, the experience of making a film this way is not something I’ve done before. I am grateful to be part of his work and hope to do so again.”

The Gucci Beauty brand ambassador wraps up his role as sonic superhero/violinist Viktor Hargreeves, aka The White Violin, in the six-episode fourth (and final) season of The Umbrella Academy, premiering on Netflix later this year.

Elliot produced DW Waterson’s feature debut Backspot, which hits select U.S. theaters later this year, starring Evan Rachel Wood, Devery Jacobs and Kudakwashe Rutendo.

Page will portray idealistic humanitarian aid worker Victoria Walker in Jay Oliva’s long-delayed Ark: The Animated Series, a small-screen adaptation of the 2015 video game Ark: Survival Evolved.

The film, which will hit U.S. theaters in late 2024, will also feature the voice talents of Michelle Yeoh, Russell Crowe, Vin Diesel, Jeffrey Wright, Gerard Butler, Malcolm McDowell and Alan Tudyk.
