I was on a first date with a woman when she picked up another guy at the bar – then she asked me to do something crazy

A young man has revealed how a promising date turned out to be the ‘worst of his life’ after his future girlfriend picked up another man on the dance floor.

In a letter to the Bad Dates of Melbourne Facebook page, he explained that they had been talking online for a few weeks before she invited him for “a few drinks”.

Excitedly he got on his bike, only to find the lights were all out when he got there, he wrote in a post on the Bad Dates of Melbourne page.

He called and was told she had ‘gone to bed’ but seemed keen to get back up and go into town for a real date.

Little did he realize that the impromptu night out would be the most awkward date of his life.

The cyclist eventually took the woman’s car to a café where she met friends and had drinks together.

Then they went to a club, where he paid for both to get in and bought a round of drinks for his date and her friends.

This is when things went downhill.

“She starts chatting to this guy – and suddenly they’re with their tongues down each other’s throats,” he said.

“I finally went outside and sat there thinking about how to get out of this situation.”

Instead of leaving the bar, he hung around and chatted with the security guards until his date was ready to go home.

“The place was closing and she came out with him and asked me to take them back to hers – and then leave,” he revealed.

Adding the second man didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with the situation as he made out with the woman in the backseat of the car.

“Amidst some rather interesting noises from behind, I had a guy talking to me like nothing was happening,” he explained.

Man was shocked when his date asked him to take her and her new boyfriend home ‘and then leave’

The next day, the young woman texted him to apologize and ask him to come back.

‘I explained that next time she should call a taxi. That was my ‘date’,” he said.

Hundreds of people reacted with shock to the story.

‘I am speechless! You went out of your way for someone who didn’t deserve it either, bless your heart,” one woman said.

“I’m shocked at how anyone can think this is okay,” said another.

Some said he shouldn’t have let her “walk all over him” all night.

‘You are a sweet person. Much nicer than myself, of course, because I would have dumped her at the location, driven myself back to pick up the bike and told her her car was at home,” one woman said.

“Those keys might have fallen out of my pocket before I left,” one man added.

“I would have left her and her car there and made my own way back to your bike,” said a third.

‘Fell asleep while waiting for your date?! That would have been the first and only clue I needed to turn around, get back on my bike and leave,” another added.

While others praised him for his actions.

“You have acted exactly right and decently this whole time. You’re a gentleman and she’s terrible… you, my friend, are a catch. She doesn’t know, but you do. Stay fabulous,” one woman said.

“I’m surprised you agreed to ride them back, but I guess you had to get your bike anyway. Still no basic level of empathy on her part, you dodged a bullet,” said another.

Others wished the man good luck in love.

“I hope you’ve had a good date since then,” one person said.

“Please don’t let this stop you from finding love,” said another.
