Wedding DJ who filmed himself urinating on cancer patient in sick Snapchat prank is jailed for 14 weeks – and will miss birth of his baby next month
A wedding DJ who urinated on a cancer patient during a nasty Snapchat prank has been jailed for 14 weeks.
Leigh Brookfield, 40, from Llanelli, was standing next to Peter Barton, who has cancer, in the toilets at Llanelli tennis club when he filmed himself performing the dastardly stunt.
Mr Barton told Brookfield about his prostate problems when the DJ turned to the older man to urinate on his back.
Brookfield then posted the footage of the dastardly stunt on Snapchat on Boxing Day 2023.
Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club said it had banned Brookfield for life and described Mr Barton as a ‘valued member of our club’.

Brookfield posted the video to Snapchat on Boxing Day 2023. The DJ, who performs in bars and at weddings around Llanelli, posted an apology on Facebook before deleting his account.
Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club said it had banned Brookfield for life and described Mr Barton as a ‘valued member of our club’
“He was understandably upset by this incident as he recently underwent treatment for cancer,” the statement said.
“We are a family-friendly club and are devastated that our name has been bribed for this despicable act by someone who has no connection with the club and through no fault of our own.”
At an earlier hearing on December 29, 2023, prosecutor Lucy Mansfield said Mr Barton only learned later that he had urinated.
She said: “The defendant entered the toilets and spoke to the complainant and the complainant explained that he had recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
“While this was happening, the suspect urinated on the complainant and while this was happening a video was posted online.”
Ms Mansfield played the Snapchat footage to the court and said: ‘The complainant was not aware at the time that he was being urinated on.’
The DJ, who performs in bars and at weddings around Llanelli, posted an apology on Facebook before deleting his account.
He wrote: ‘I apologize to all of you for my actions tonight. I am deeply sorry to those I offended and if I could take it all back, I would.
“It’s just something me and the guys do when we’re drunk, and until I watched the video again I didn’t realize the nice gentleman next to me had health problems.”
But his apology was rejected by viewers of the video, with one woman saying she no longer wanted him to DJ her engagement party.
The court also heard Brookfield had previous offenses for crimes committed while intoxicated.
