Melbourne sex offender teacher Kirk Skinner dies before sentencing
A convicted sex offender teacher has been found dead just weeks before he was due to be sentenced for his crimes.
Kirk Skinner, 64, who had worked as a music director at a private school, pleaded guilty last year to sex crimes against six victims committed over the past 30 years.
He was found dead on Tuesday at a property in Seaford, 51km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD, with police saying “his death is not being treated as suspicious”.
Skinner, who was due to be sentenced on March 12, was reportedly found by friends who were concerned about his health after he failed to show up for two hospital appointments.
“Police were called to an address on the Nepean Highway in Seaford at approximately 4.40pm on January 23 after a 64-year-old man was found deceased on his property,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Skinner had missed appointments last Friday and Saturday, one of which was for dialysis Herald Sun reported.
He had been hospitalized last November with ‘acute renal and heart failure’ and required dialysis treatment three times a week.
The former Caulfield Grammar and Newhaven College teacher last appeared in court via video link in December.
Under that title, he was told that he would have to face his victims if they chose to confront the court about the consequences of his crimes.
Skinner’s crimes included the sexual penetration of a child and the intentional sexual touching of the genitals of boys aged 16 to 18.
