NBA admits referees made TEN wrong calls in the final two minutes of the Hornets’ win over the Timberwolves… including one that would have given Minnesota a chance to take a late lead
The NBA has revealed that Monday night’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlotte Hornets contained 10 foul calls in the final two minutes.
The match was not decided until the final moments after the Hornets staged an 18-point comeback to secure a 128-125 victory despite Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns scoring a game-high 62 points.
But according to the NBA’s L2M report, the referees made a number of incorrect decisions in the final stages of the game that could have changed the outcome.
Three of the missed calls favored the Timberwolves, while six favored the victorious Hornets.
Another missed call involved a foul called on the wrong Hornets player after being assessed to Brandon Miller instead of PJ Washington.

One of the missed calls would have given Karl-Anthony Towns free throws to win the game
One of the most important pieces of information revealed was that Towns should have been sent to the free throw line with less than five seconds left.
That would have given him the opportunity to give Minnesota the lead, but the call was missed by the officiating crew.
On the play, Towns had driven to the basket and attempted a layup with 4.5 seconds on the clock and Minnesota trailing by just one point, when he was hit on the arm by Hornets forward Leaky Black.
Despite the loss, Minnesota still sits atop the NBA Western Conference with a 30-13 record.
Charlotte, on the other hand, is at the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference and is 10-31.
The Hornets also made headlines when they dealt guard Terry Rozier to the Miami Heat on Tuesday morning.
Rozier was traded in exchange for veteran Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round pick.
