Travis Kelce is ‘genuinely happy’ living in Kansas City months after purchasing $6million mansion as relationship with Taylor Swift heats up

Travis Kelce is “genuinely happy” to be living in Kansas City, it’s reported, months after splurging on a new $6 million mansion.

Drafted by the Chiefs in 2013, Kelce has spent his entire NFL career in the Midwestern city while establishing himself as one of the greatest tight ends of all time.

And after he bought the new home in October during his romance with Taylor Swift, a source says PEOPLE of Kelce’s affinity with the area.

“He loves KC,” the source said. ‘He is really happy there and has therefore chosen to lay down real roots.’

Kelce had felt like his former home wasn’t a good fit for someone dating a 12-time Grammy Award winner and decided to take it a step further to feel “self-conscious.” New York Post reported.

His new property features six bedrooms, six bathrooms and extends over 17,000 square feet.

It also features amenities such as a tennis and pickleball court and even its own miniature golf course, which can be seen on the beautiful lawn.

The source added to PEOPLE that Kelce, who grew up in Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati, has “a lot of friends” in the area.

“Most of his friends are regular guys, many of whom he has known since college,” they said. “He is a very loyal man and many of his friends have been in his life for a long time.”

Swift has been spending a lot of time at Kelce’s house since the couple went public with their romance in September.

In November, with two months before her Eras tour resumed, she moved into Kelce’s mansion for weeks.

And she also spent Christmas with her boyfriend in Kansas City, with a source revealing to DailyMail.com that Taylor’s family joined Travis and his father at the tight end’s home after the Chiefs’ Dec. 25 loss to the Raiders .

“Seeing their families together on such a special holiday was the best gift ever for Taylor,” a source close to the 34-year-old Grammy Award winner told DailyMail.com.

‘She has never experienced this before and it made the holiday the most meaningful for her.

Swift was at Arrowhead Stadium last weekend to watch Travis and the Chiefs beat the Dolphins, though it’s unclear if she’ll make the trip to Buffalo for the divisional round.
