Football is often referred to as a game of emotions, and that emotion was fully apparent during the New York Jets’ 27-12 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
During the match, cameras caught Jet’s defensive lineman Quinnen Williams as he got into a heated argument with one of the coaching staff. In the end, he was stopped by teammates.
The coach in question is Jets defensive coach Aaron Whitecotton. Head coach Robert Saleh also came to talk to Williams after the first incident.

Commenting on the incident after the game, Saleh said Williams “challenged the coaches” during his sideline explosion, according to The Athletic.
‘I like the fire. We don’t need them to silence each other, but he’s competitive.’
Williams tried to downplay the incident when he spoke to reporters after the game by saying: “It wasn’t quite an argument as it seemed. Just a loud conversation.’
“In the game, man, you just get excited,” he continued. “I love my coach, man. My coach loves me. We are all competitors out there. We have dogs in our room, bro… I trust my D-Line so much that- put him on our backs to win this game man. That came out of me just to challenge my D-Line coach and say, ‘Put him on our backs, coach.’
Williams continued to say that he felt that once the defense line was established they were able to apply pressure with just a four-man rush and not have to continue calling blitzes.

Williams’ older brother Qunicy Williams, who plays linebacker for the Jets, was sent off with an injury sustained in the second half of the game.
Quincy was injured when he tackled the Bengals that Joe Mixon drove back.
After tackling Mixon out of the air, he immediately grabbed his lower leg, prompting teammates to call for medical attention.
After a few moments on the ground, the dynamic young linebacker was placed on the cart, showing obvious signs of pain as he covered his face with a towel. His leg was clearly immobilized to prevent further damage.
