A champion bodybuilder who continued to compete after breaking his spine in a horror accident 19 years ago has died aged 49.
Chad McCrary, who won several bodybuilding championships during his career, was paralyzed from the waist down after he suffered a serious accident while riding his dirt bike in a cross-country motorcycle race 19 years ago.
Just five years into his bodybuilding career, the Texas native attempted a 100-foot triple jump when he landed hard on his back, leaving him paralyzed.
Despite the severity of his injury, McCrary didn’t stop doing what he loved and continued bodybuilding in a wheelchair – becoming an inspiration to many.
However, earlier this month, fitness page Bisandtris confirmed that he had passed away on January 2.
