Austrian incest fiend Josef Fritzl, 88, is ‘unmoved’ by the fervour around his possible release and wants to ‘get back into the property business’ in new life ‘on the outside’
Imprisoned Austrian incest monster Josef Fritzl is “unmoved” by the passion surrounding his possible release and wants to “get back into the real estate world” in his new life “on the outside”, his lawyer has revealed.
The 88-year-old, who locked his daughter Elisabeth as a sex slave in a cellar for 24 years and fathered seven children with her, was sentenced to life in prison in 2009.
But he could soon be released from the infamous Krems-Stein prison – Austria’s most secure psychiatric prison – to spend his days in a care home, with reports making headlines around the world and sparking public outrage.
Yet Fritzl is “unmoved” by the passion surrounding his possible release, with the depraved pedophile making unrealistic plans for his life “on the outside”, his lawyer Astrid Wagner said. Kronen Zeitung.
Fritzl refuses to believe he will be sent to a nursing home and has instead talked “at length” about how he wants to live in a house with a large yard and get back into the real estate business, Wagner said.

‘I visited him on Monday in Krems-Stein prison, where he explained in detail how much he was looking forward to a life ‘on the outside’. In a house with a garden where he wants to keep a goat and grow strawberries and tomatoes,” Wagner said.
She added: ‘He also talks about his plans to get back into the real estate industry.’
Wagner said she was looking for nursing homes where Fritzl could live if he is released. The 88-year-old, who raped his daughter more than 3,000 times in 24 years, would ‘get a good place’.
Local reports claim that Fritzl appears confused, frequently talks to the TV and believes he is a pop star with hundreds of adoring fans.
Wagner says he does not want to believe that he has dementia and that he can only stagger around with the help of a walker, he regards as a ‘temporary circumstance’.
The lawyer said he remains adamant that he is a famous pop star – and that the dementia causes him to enter these fantasy worlds for extended periods of time.
“He almost never turns on the TV in his cell, because he thinks he sees thousands of fans on all channels enthusiastically waving at him and demanding autographs from him,” Wagner said.
Fritzl also regularly talks about visits from relatives that never happened.
Daughter Elisabeth has had no contact with her father since he was imprisoned and lives under a new name in an unknown part of Austria with the children fathered during the decades her own father brutally raped her.
Elisabeth disappeared in 1984 at the age of 18 after Fritzl rendered her unconscious with a cloth soaked in ether and threw her into his makeshift, underground prison.
She would not reappear until April 26, 2008, when she was discovered in the clandestine cellar beneath the family home in Amstetten, Austria.
Josef Fritzl pleaded guilty to rape, false imprisonment, negligent homicide and incest, and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years
During her ordeal under the family home in Amstetten in the state of Lower Austria, Fritzl fathered seven children together with her in a case that shocked Austria and the world
Three of the seven children were raised by Fritzl and his wife Rosemarie (pictured together), while three lived in the basement. The other died at birth.

The abuse, which began when he knocked Elisabeth unconscious with a cloth soaked in ether, culminated in the birth of seven children, three of whom remained in captivity with their mother.
One died at the hands of Fritzl, a matter of days after birth. He threw the body into an incinerator.
The other three were raised by Fritzl and his wife Rosemarie.
He was arrested in 2008 on suspicion of incest, rape, false imprisonment and negligent homicide after taking Kerstin, Elisabeth’s eldest daughter, to hospital.
After the horrific ordeal came to light, there was widespread speculation about Rosemarie’s involvement.
She was never charged and police quickly cleared her after an interview in 2011.
It turned out that she was never allowed to enter the cellar where Elisabeth was imprisoned and had no knowledge of her husband’s crimes.
In March 2009, he pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Under the terms of his sentence, Fritzl will be eligible for parole this year.
And that now seems likely after a new psychiatric report into his state of mind says the basement monster is no longer dangerous.
Heidi Kastner, one of Austria’s leading forensic psychiatric experts from the University of Linz, reportedly spent a year preparing her new research into Fritzl.
She concluded that the country’s most notorious prisoner no longer poses any danger and that there is no longer any risk that he will engage in any criminal activity.
Wagner supported Kastner’s 28-page report, claiming she would not be afraid to live with him since he has no sex drive.
The lawyer, 60, told Bild earlier this week: ‘Fritzl is completely harmless today. I wouldn’t be afraid to move into a shared apartment with him or live in a house with him. He doesn’t feel like having sex anymore.’
She told the newspaper that he keeps himself away from others except her and his only friend Alfred U., a cannibal murderer who was jailed for life for dismembering a Hungarian prostitute and making goulash from her body parts.
‘He barricades himself in his lonely cell, watches a lot of TV, grows tomatoes, writes about his life as an electrical engineer. He sunbathes through the bars, does gymnastics, cares a lot about his figure and wants to live to be a hundred years old,” Wagner said.
Kastner believes he can be transferred through the normal prison system from Krems-Stein prison as part of a first step towards his release.
At the very least, it is understood that Kastner feels there is no reason to keep him in a facility where the most dangerous offenders reside, due to his age and vulnerability.
However, due to his poor condition, Kleine Zeitung reports that there are doubts about the wisdom of moving him to a new prison due to his poor health.
It is more likely that he will be transferred to a nursing home, his lawyer says.
Kleine Zeitung also reports that while it has been noted that he often makes incoherent comments, he has also spoken about having an unknown son.
According to the newspaper, this may have some basis in reality.
It reports that a man from Austria contacted Fritzl a few months ago and said he was his father. According to the report, Frtizl had an affair with the man’s mother, which would coincide with the unknown son’s date of birth.
Zeitung said a DNA test could be conducted to determine the truth of the matter.
