Actress Lynne Marta died Thursday at the age of 78 at her home in Los Angeles after a battle with cancer.
Marta’s boyfriend Chris Saint-Hilaire confirmed her death The Hollywood Reporter.
Marta spent four decades in show business, with her most prominent work in the films Footloose and Joe Kidd; and on the TV shows Love, American Style, Starsky & Hutch, Barnaby Jones, The FBI and Medical Center.
Marta’s death comes weeks after the death of her longtime lover, Starsky & Hutch actor David Soul, on January 4 at the age of 80.
In 1983 she described their relationship with People as an ‘open relationship’, as Soul was married to actress Karen Carlson at the time.

The magazine reported at the time that during the Starsky & Hutch years from 1975 to 1979, “David and Lynne lived together but spent time with other people.”
Marta would appear with her late lover in his 1977 special, David Soul and Friends.
Marta was previously married to the late actor Brick Huston from 1968 to 1975. He died in August 2018.
