American boy, 10, is rushed to the hospital after being bitten by a shark inside an ‘exhibition’ at Bahamas resort

A young boy has been rushed to hospital after being bitten by a shark at an ‘exhibit’ at a resort in the Bahamas.

The 10-year-old child from Maryland was attacked by the big fish at a resort just after 4 p.m. Monday, according to police. It is unclear where the incident took place.

The unidentified boy was hospitalized after being bitten on his right leg. He took part in a ‘shark tank’ exhibition at a local resort on Paradise Island.

He is believed to be in stable condition as he recovers from his injuries.

Further details were not immediately available.

Police have not identified the resort, but Atlantis Paradise Island offers shark experiences on site.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not confirmed what type of shark bit the boy.

In 2022, a teenage boy was on a lobster expedition in the Florida Keys when he suddenly came face to face with a shark that bit him on the lip.

Fischer Hricko, 13, was looking for the crustaceans with his father and went looking for a particularly large specimen when he suddenly felt a tap on the back of his leg.

A nurse shark managed to jump up and bite him on the face.

“He just came out and screamed, ‘Mom, mom, shark!’ Get me out of here! Get me out of the water!” Fischer Hricko’s mother, Rhiannon, told FOX 35.

‘I saw a big one and held it in my hand. β€œOn the way up, when I had the lobster in my hand, I felt a little tap on the back of my leg, and I looked back and the shark was in my face,” Fischer explained.

β€œIt was scary, I tried to get away but it happened so fast,” he said.

And in 2018, a shark turned on an eight-year-old boy and took a bite out of his back while he was on vacation in the Bahamas.

Asher Jones was swimming with nurse sharks as part of an organized excursion near Exuma Cays in the Bahamas when one of the predators attacked.

The boy’s father, Jeremy, saw the shark moving towards the boy and pulled him off Asher’s back.

Although the nurse shark is generally considered not dangerous to humans, it can still bite and its grip is so tight that in some cases surgical instruments have been required to remove it.

At first, the boy thought the attack was just his father messing around in the water.

But then Asher, who lives in Sandy, Utah, USA, hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean, realized what was happening and thought he was going to die.

He said: ‘It was terrible. At first I thought it was my dad faking it, but then I thought, ‘No, my dad wouldn’t try to hurt me,’ because it dug into my damn flesh.”

“It was the most terrifying thing of my entire life.”

And this week, new terrifying GoPro footage captured the moment an alligator clung to the head of a shark’s tooth collector while wading through a river in Florida.

Jeff Heim, a collector specializing in ancient megalodon teeth, this week recalled his 2021 death throes, saying the alligator bit him “twice before I knew it.”

‘It was very powerful. It looked much bigger than it actually was,” he told Florida Fourth Estate.

He believes he was only spared by the waterproof camera strapped to his head – which captured the crazy ordeal – and if he hadn’t been wearing the camera “my head would have exploded.”

Heim said the attack came as he was steadily searching the bottom of Florida’s Myakka River for megalodon teeth, and believed the beast’s first blow was a boat chopping off its head.

Not all near-death shark bites ended so happily. On December 31, a 39-year-old man was killed by a shark in Maui, Hawaii while surfing in Paia Bay.

Officials said they arrived on scene where Ocean Safety Officers had already transported the injured victim to shore on a jet ski.

β€œOnce on land, lifesaving measures were administered by first responder personnel until medical personnel arrived to transport the man to Maui Memorial Medical Center for further treatment,” Maui police said in a statement.

The man’s identity was not immediately released pending notification from extended family and friends.
