Seinfeld star Peter Crombie dead at 71 after battling illness – actor was known for playing Crazy Joe Davola on hit sitcom: ‘He was loved by everybody’

Seinfeld star Peter Crombie died Wednesday at the age of 71 after a battle with an unknown illness. TMZ.

The Hollywood actor – who was best known for portraying the character Crazy Joe Davola in the beloved sitcom – died ‘quickly’ from the effects of the disease, according to his ex-wife Nadine Kijner.

However, the type of condition has yet to be revealed, as have other details surrounding his death.

Crombie’s ex-wife told the newspaper: ‘He was the kindest, caring, caring, thoughtful man. He was loved by everyone, generous and never had anything bad to say about anyone.”

A close friend of the late star, Bill Stetz, also said that Peter was “a kind and loyal friend of gentle words and expressive work as an actor and writer.”

Crombie notably appeared in a total of five episodes while playing the character of Crazy Joe Davola on Seinfeld in 1992 and 1993.

Some of the episodes he appeared in include The Opera, The Watch, The Pitch and also The Pilot.

During his time on the show, Davola was an adversary of Seinfeld, and at one point had a brief relationship with Jerry’s good friend Elaine – played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
