Sophia also said that while playing the infamous drug dealer known as the Cocaine Godmother, she had to go through hours of makeup (depicted in the show).

Speaking about the character, Sofia admitted that she first had the idea for the series almost 15 years ago.

“It’s a true story of a woman who no one ever suspected was one of the biggest drug dealers to ever exist.”

“She created an insane cartel, and the story drove me crazy. She was Colombian, an immigrant and a very tough, ruthless woman. She was a monster. It was the role for me!’.

The stunner, who is known for her iconic accent, also shared the pressure she felt about losing out to make it in Hollywood.

“I thought it wouldn’t be that hard, that I could take some classes and play any role I wanted. That wasn’t the case – I spent a lot of money and hours trying and it was going to get worse. I went to auditions and it was horrible.’

Sofia was joined on the BBC chat show by Kevin Hart, Jodie Comer, Alan Cummings and singer Tom Odell.

American actor Kevin, 44, spoke about surviving a real-life plane crash in 2019 as he promoted a new film life set during a flight.

Proverb: ‘I almost died. “We were landing and as we were doing that the front wheel broke and I just saw flames coming out of the front of the plane.”

'The hardest part was having to wear a wig, fake teeth, a fake nose and a plastic forehead. I also had to wear uncomfortable bras that pushed me down so I looked less Latin.

“It was one of those moments where I thought, ‘This is it,’ and I realized that if it happened, I had no problem with where I was in life. I didn’t panic.’

Elsewhere Jodie, 30, shared details about her new survival drama The End We Start From, which she described as a story about “the first year of parenthood set in the middle of a climate crisis.”

When asked about acting with a baby as her co-star, she said, “We had 15 real babies in the film and the director gave me a baby doll to take home so I could understand the physicality of it. It was like a baby boot camp.”

Finally, Alan, 58, discussed his role as host of the US version of the smash hit series The Traitors.

“The castle is the same and the missions are mostly the same, but I pretend it’s my castle and the people are all reality stars instead of civilians.”

Before adding: ‘It’s a shock to their systems as they’ve never been to Scotland and they’re in a rural bubble outside Inverness so they’re panicking a bit.’

Sofia’s new show Griselda is from the makers of the hit series Narcos and Narcos: Mexicoand the new clip features one of the characters from that series: the Colombian drug lord Hélmer Herrera, played by Alberto Ammann.

Grisela is considered one of the most profitable cartels in history.

The career criminal, who stood just five feet tall, was involved in pickpocketing and prostitution from a young age, but it wasn’t long before her crimes began to escalate.

After being drawn into the cocaine industry by her second husband, whom she later murdered, Griselda built a thriving drug empire, earning more than $80 million every month.

She embraced her criminal persona – her nicknames were The Black Widow, The Godmother of Cocaine and The Boss – and was not afraid to flaunt her ill-gotten gains.

But things began to fall apart after her incarceration as authorities tried to bring charges against the devoted mother for more than 200 murders.

Griselda spent ten years behind bars before being sent back to Colombia, where she was shot dead at the age of 69 as she stepped out of a butcher’s shop.

She remains among the most notorious drug lords in history and was a central figure in documentaries such as Cocaine Cowboys (2006) and Cocaine Cowboys 2: Hustlin’ with the Godmother (2008) – as well as in the film The Cocaine Godmother (2017) with starring Catherine Zeta-Jones.
