Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce says he is NOT retiring soon, but admits his Saturday Night Live appearance in March opened new doors for him professionally
Travis Kelce isn’t about to retire, but the Kansas City Chiefs star admits he has more professional options after his appearance on Saturday Night Live last March.
Kelce was asked Thursday about his future plans ahead of Saturday’s playoff game against the visiting Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium, where temperatures are expected to dip below zero.
“I have no reason to stop playing football,” Kelce told reporters Thursday. “I think it’s great, we’re still having success, come in with the right mindset.”
When asked what he would do when he wasn’t playing football, Kelce explained that he has time in the offseason to pursue those interests.
“That’s the point of the offseason,” Kelce said. ‘Being able to go out and really discover what you like to do. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to do some of the things I love outside of the sports world, like being in front of the camera. The SNL thing opened up a new happiness and career path for me.

“It’s funny that I’m even saying that at this point in my career because it’s so much further away.”
Rumors that Kelce might be considering retirement have been swirling since he started dating Taylor Swift, who clearly has her own busy career to worry about.
The 34-year-old Cleveland native remains one of the most productive tight ends in the NFL.
He trailed only San Francisco’s George Kittle in receiving yards among tight ends in 2023 while ranking third with 93 receptions for the year.
He also played a major role in the Chiefs’ success in 2023, leading the team with 984 receiving yards for the reigning Super Bowl champions.
