Spot the airport etiquette fail: Traveller outraged over Aussies standing close to the baggage claim carousel

A traveler has taken aim at a common airport habit that many are labeling as ‘annoying’ and ‘inconsiderate’.

Comedian Anna Dooley gave a harsh critique to those who stood too close to the baggage carousel, preventing others from seeing and collecting their luggage.

“Next time you think about procreating, you could make one,” she wrote on Instagram.

Anna shared the snarky message with a group of travelers waiting on the assembly line at an Australian airport.

This ‘selfish’ act has long been debated online, with one frequent flyer labeling it as ‘annoying’.

An Australian traveler has slammed flyers who were too close to the baggage carousel waiting for their luggage. Many have viewed the act as ‘selfish’ and ‘entitled’

“If everyone takes a few steps back, they can see the bags, instead of having to find a spot in the gaps that pop up, spot your bag and chase after it because there’s a wall of people,” the rant people on Reddit. .

“And they still don’t move when you’re struggling to get your bag. I travel often and need to check a bag. I do not understand. You don’t lose any time by standing one meter away from the carousel, but you do block the view of others if you don’t.’

“It wouldn’t matter to me because mine is ALWAYS the last bag for some reason,” one person joked.

“Probably the same people who stand up and block the aisle as soon as the plane stops even though they’re standing forty rows away,” one user complained.

“I just don’t understand why people do that?” another said and a third commented: ‘Another reason why I refuse to check a bag.’

Someone has pointed out that the airports are to blame and should have clear systems in place to prevent people from getting in the way at baggage claim.

“There should be a mandatory 1.5 meter exclusion zone that you cannot enter until your bag is visible and within reach,” they said.

‘But that would spoil the lives of the people who feel entitled to their bag, regardless of where it is in the queue!’

However, not everyone objected to the airport etiquette faux pas.

“Am I the only one who doesn’t see anything wrong with this?” someone asked.

‘The carousel is usually long enough for everyone to spread out. Like everywhere, the best spot has to be found first,” said a second.

“Most baggage claims are about 100 feet in circumference. Just find a place where no one is standing,” another agreed.
